PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP Systems and Applications are mission-critical components for running the business processes of large, medium and small enterprises all over the world. The Security & Identity Management (SIM) team of the SAP Technology & Innovation Platform (TIP) Core is responsible for providing the central security functions for SAP Systems, such as user management, authentication and single sign-on, authorization, encryption and digital signature services, virus protection, intrusion detection and prevention.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
* After an initial training period with SAP and security specific courses you are extending the SIM team and are working on the design and implementation of enhancements in this area
* You are also responsible for testing your implementations and maintaining your code after customer shipment
* You understand penetration testing and actively seeking for exploits as the prerequisite to design and implement secure software solutions
* You are quickly taking over responsibility for our joint efforts to provide powerful solutions for the security of our customers systems

WORK EXPERIENCE
* 1+ years of experience in software development and architecture

or
* Master thesis / research project with software development emphases in the area of system security, communication or cryptography

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Bachelor or master degree in computer science or related area with excellent marks
* Proficiency of one or more of the development environments or languages used at SAP (ABAP(TM), Java, C, JavaScript, C#, .net, Flash, and JavaServer Pages)
* Interest and optionally already knowledge in the areas of software security and/or cryptography
* Hacker mindset, security risk awareness and security know-how
* Knowledge about the general software lifecycle (specification, design, implementation, test, version control and maintenance)
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Customer focused and a team player
* Fluent in German and English language
