PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Installed Base Maintenance and Support (IMS) is a global organization with approximately 1800 developers worldwide. IMS provides professional product maintenance and Development support for the Large Enterprise Installed Base.
IMS is organized in eight functional areas and one IMS Strategy & Execution Office responsible for cross topics as Maintenance & Support Processes, Central Quality Management and the Product Security Program.

IMS will take over the responsibility for the SAP Business Suite Security roadmap for products already shipped to customers. To ensure that customers are able to consume security solutions the approach for the roadmap will be changed from "Q-Gate" driven to "Patch Day" driven.

IMS will establish a central security program & project management team and a separate IMS central architecture team. The central IMS architecture team will be headed by you (as MMT) being responsible for the overall architecture and roadmap.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Within the next years SAP will continue to analyze and fix security vulnerabilities identified in internal research and by external sources. All activities are bundled in an overall program aligned with IMS, TIP, ACI and ASI Development. Vulnerabilities will be analyzed by the IMS architecture team which provides solution options including effort estimation and risk ratings.

As a development manager you will lead a team of nine experienced Developers / Architects. Your primary tasks include: * Leading the team by setting realistic goals and creating a productive working atmosphere
* Developing the team members
* Managing the research, analysis and development tasks of your team
* Making sure that sustainable solutions instead of "quick-fixes" get designed and implemented
* Offering advice (as contact for application colleagues and/or by providing best practices, cookbooks, documentation and test concepts)
* Contributing to the planning of the Product Security Program
* Establishing good working relationships with other teams

WORK EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Capability to lead and develop a team of highly skilled technical developers / architects
* At least 10 years of experience in professional software development / design
* Thorough understanding and experience in the area of security (knowledge of the SAP Product Standard Security and related processes)
* Experience in at least one of the topics Code Scans, Data Protection & Privacy, Authorization, Frontend Security
* Ability to manage new situations and ambiguity
* Strong drive for realistic results
* University degree, or another adequate
Qualification
* Very good communication skills
* Language skills: fluent in German, English
