PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Channel Development team as part of the Global Indirect Channel Organization supports the field around the globe to build and support the most qualified and profitable sales partner network to ensure highly satisfied customers and thus drive SAP to become a leader in all Market Segments.
Role of Director, Channel Development (f/m):
As a member of the Global Channel Development team, the Director, Channel Development is responsible for liaising with regional field enablement teams, SAP Education, Product and Solution portfolio management teams as well as other internal enablement teams to design, develop and launch new enablement programs and accelerators to the field.
The Director, Channel Development brings strong field enablement and partner experience to deliver targeted education programs to support partner sales, presales, and consultant roles across the entire SME portfolio of solutions.
Works closely with other members of the Channel Development team, Regional Channel, SAP Education, Knowledge Management Services, Value University, Solution Management, SME Solution Portfolio Development, SME Sales Readiness, etc..
The outcome of the Directors efforts and delivery is intended to drive partners to productivity, revenue contribution and increased performance and help them become autonomous in marketing, sales and delivery.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Strategy and Enablement Portfolio planning (40% of time):
* Work with regional channel teams to define enablement requirements and to communicate availability of enablement programs and assets
* Orchestrate the enablement portfolio planning process with all relevant stakeholders (Regional Partner Enablement team, SAP Education, SME Solution Portfolio Development, SM Sales Readiness, Partner Service Delivery etc to define a prioritized list of enablement assets along solution, processes/methodologies and programs by partner role in line with SAP s business priorities and product releases
* Work with SAP Education, Solution Portfolio Development, Value University, SME Sales Readiness, Inside Sales Enablement and other teams to share and leverage enablement resources and assets
Partner Education Program Management (40% of time):
* Ensure completion of enablement projects on time and on budget
* Work with PartnerEdge team to ensure partner education programs support PartnerEdge requirements
* Lead channel education special projects
* Support global training delivery vendor to effectively deliver global education programs
* Lead education project team members to deliver education projects on schedule and on budget
Reporting, Metrics, and Budget (20% of time):
* Provide regular updates to global teams and regions
* Manage project KPIs
* Manage project estimating and actual budget spend
WORK EXPERIENCE
* Proven Experience in building and rolling out enablement program in a global organization
* 8+ years experience in field-related role (sales, marketing, presales or, solution management) in IT industry, with a portion of this having key managerial responsibilities for financial and personnel resources
* 8+ years experience in managing projects in a matrixed, global organization
* Experience of working in a multi-country / multi-cultural environment is an advantage
* Experience in working in Vendor / Partner solution development program is a strong advantage
* Experience in working in marketing is an advantage
* Experience in working in a partner / indirect model and close collaboration with channel partners is an advantage; however, if other requirements are met and willingness to learn is high, then the relevant channel business know-how will be provided
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Education:
* Degree in Commerce / Business / Education from a secondary institution or comparable experience
* College degree, MBA a plus

* Project Management: ability to effectively define, plan, schedule and control projects and budgets in a highly matrixed organization; ability to prioritize in a complex, multi-tasking environment; results driven personality able to maintain strategic business focus
* Strong Knowledge of Indirect Partner Ecosystems including solution development, sales and implementation of partner added value solutions
* Communication: strong written, spoken, and presentation skills and knowledge of how to most effectively use communication styles to reach a variety of audiences including senior management
* Strategic Thinking- Focus the teams activities to align with SAPs strategic direction
* Decision making-Demonstrates accountability and commitment by making sound decisions in the best interest of SAP and the partner community
* Team Collaboration- Builds an engaged productive team , sharing knowledge and collaborating internally across roles, departments and locations as well as externally with partners and customers

Languages:
* Fluency in English is a must
* Fluency in German is an advantage
