PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The SAP TREX engine is the basis for the ground-breaking SAP in-memory technology and is widely agreed to be a highly valuable asset in the SAP software portfolio. In-memory computing is made possible through recent technology advances in main memory, multi-core processing, and data management. It leverages technology innovation to establish real-time analysis of business data and combines both transactions and analytics to improve existing business processes with a dramatic increase in performance.

The SAP In-Memory Platform is mainly based on the TREX engine. TREX in-memory technology as basis for the in-memory computing shows enormous promise as a key driver for SAP market of the future.

The TREX team develops a software engine that performs parallel in-memory processing of huge data sets to offer extremely fast real-time responses for analytic queries. TREX can also retrieve and classify unstructured data from text documents in SAP applications. TREX is also a mission-critical part of the core infrastructure of SAP BusinessByDesign.

We seek new talents to extend our technological lead.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a C++ developer (f/m) in the TREX team you will be working with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues.

You will need to:
* Do blue-sky conceptual research
* Write meticulous implementations
* Optimize on the basis of user feedback

Your tasks will include developing new ideas for:
* Compression algorithms
* Transactions, persistence
* Distributed server control
* Metadata handling
* Multi-tenancy concepts
* Analytic, planning and calculation engine
* Hierarchies, outer joins, formulas
* Server side engine scripting
* Cloud computing
* Distributed In Memory Database Systems
* Ultra speed parallel processing in multi-core multi-box scenario

WORK EXPERIENCE
We seek developers or engineers with several years of extremely successful C++ development experience.

We are looking for candidates who are committed to a technology career path. Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter and tabular CV, copies of the obtained degrees and references (if available).

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
We require that you meet the core competencies and skills listed below:
* Very good university degree in computer science, natural sciences, engineering or related area
* Demonstrate exceptional promise at OO programming e.g. C++, Python
* Eagerness to work creatively to the highest engineering standards on challenging and pioneering development work
* Optional: Knowledge of UNIX or Windows
* Ability to work well in close teamwork
* Ability to take responsibility in driving new development
* Excellent German and English both spoken and written
