PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Engineering, Construction & Operations (EC&O) Industry is an important industry for SAP that drives significant revenues and represents a sizeable installed base of customers. This Industry unit is part of the Business Services Industry hub within SAP. The EC&O IBU (Industry Business Unit) provides industry thought leadership and determines and executes an SAP-wide plan to grow our software business in this industry. This unit drives understanding of industry trends and future requirements and translates them into resulting products and solution needs, provides strategic customer relationship support, and acts as the interface between SAP global field and development organizations. The IBU is the global entity that represents SAP in the Industry and is targeting for continued business growth, customer satisfaction and solution completeness.

The EC&O IBU consists of solution managers who translate business requirements into future SAP solutions and commercial managers who develop new business/ new revenue sources. The team is headed by the IBU head for EC&O.

We are looking for a new head for the EC&O IBU who will be seen as an authoritative voice and thought leader in the Market. The holder of this position is accountable for ensuring the IBU delivers successful software solutions; for establishing and maintaining key customer relationships; for ensuring customer issues are addressed; for making sure the sales and consulting organization gets the products they need to grow the market. The IBU Head is directly reporting to the Head of the Business Services hub.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
* Analyze the market to understand the full business potential and gain insight into strategies for success
* Develop a strategy, investment plan, and execution plan to realize the potential and growth targets; execute against that plan
* Build and foster executive level relationships with strategic customers to ensure a grass-roots level understanding of their needs
* Take responsibility for the delivery of high-quality specifications that reflect customer/user needs and create competitive advantage for SAP
* Collaborate with sales and consulting organizations to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to sell and implement the IBU products
* Investigate and initiate product initiatives and business plans, in order to establish new offerings for SAP or to enter new markets
* Initiate and execute partnering agreements for strengthening the portfolio

WORK EXPERIENCE
* Minimum 12-15 years, including 5+years in the software industry
* Demonstrated success in driving business value in a technology organization
* Track record of strong execution to achieve/exceed goals
* Strong industry relationships, including with customers, partners, analysts, and other major players in the EC&O industry including proven ability to interact with senior executives from these groups
* Experience in managing a solution unit and dealing with technology partners
* Experience managing GTM programs with sales teams
* Experience in managing international, virtual teams

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Masters degree in business administration or information technology
* Ability to understand customer needs/business value drivers and translate them into clear solution requirements
* Entrepreneurial approach with strong internal motivation and drive
* Strong Results orientation
* Natural networker with good communication (analysts, press, c-level) and presentation skills
* Passion for building and nurturing close customer relationships
* Good people leadership skills, especially in a large matrixed environment
