PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The positions are within the New Solution Concepts team in the SAP Solutions & Products organization. This team is focusing on development of creative concepts to address new market opportunities and re-envision existing product areas. The positions will report directly to the head of the New Solution Concepts team in SAP Walldorf, Germany, responsible for early product design, interaction, visual design, concept production and concept demos.
The team drives new solution concepts as team effort of cross-functional experts and virtual team members to understand problem spaces, target personas and develop, iterate and validate user centric concepts.
The teams charter is to make SAPs products irresistible in form and function by starting the path from idea to product with a user centric UI and usage type driven approach.
In todays market it is more critical than ever to iterate rapidly, validate and either fail quickly or ensure successful production.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
In this position you will be responsible for creating convincing rapid concepts akin to the concept cars in the automotive industry from the interaction design and prototyping point of view. A concept project typically starts with a concept brief and assembly of the ideal concept project team and skills from within the New Solution Concepts Team and across the organization. Bring in disruptive thinking and drive multiple concept directions, storylines, sketches, wireframes, visual designs, interaction prototypes and concept demos, which are then used for validation.

Other responsibilities include:

* Responsibility for convincing concept interaction design and prototype
* Decide on the right interaction prototype tool environment
* Compose concept demo with counterparts
* Work with internal and external customers for ongoing validation of interaction designs
* Align interaction design with storyline, visual design and concept demo requirements
* Present convincing interaction prototype to internal and external stakeholders
* Ongoing user productivity and quality assurance
* Support hand-over to product teams

WORK EXPERIENCE
* Web and enterprise application experience
* >= 2 years practical experience in product design, user centric design, interaction design, persona definitions, usage type description etc.
* Creative agency background and experience beneficial

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Diploma/Master Degree in related subject matter areas, e.g. Management Science, Information Technology, Product Design, Media Design, Web Design
* Strong presentation and communication skills, written and spoken, in English and German
* Good analytical and project management skills
* Excellent understanding of product design concepts, UCD, Wireframes, Visual Designs, Interaction/Rapid Prototyping
* Advanced Design Tool skills (e.g. Flex, HTML5, Silverlight)
* Willingness to dive into new concepts and topics
* Out-of-the-box thinking, creative, innovative
* Ability to set up networks across areas of relevance
* Ability to analyse complex topics, derive fast and precise conclusion and drive self dependent necessary action
* Take over responsibility for the achievement of challenging goals
* Friendliness, positive attitude
