PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP is aiming to expand the routes to market by embracing a true multi-channel approach across all segments from SME up to large enterprise in order to optimize market coverage and customer touch points, and accelerate growth.
To this end, all partner-facing organizations, Inside Sales, and Business ByDesign go-to-market groups will be part of the same global Ecosystem & Channels organization starting in 2011 to help SAP accelerate and monetize these strategies as one team.
The role of Ecosystem & Channels is expanding as a critical and strategic element of SAP's growth plan. The Ecosystem & Channels organization is a transformational force for SAP. It will be responsible for defining and implementing SAP's multi-channel approach on a worldwide basis. Global consistency of processes and standards are essential for the effectiveness, efficiency and for the optimization of the organization.
The Global Ecosystem & Channels Finance team, part of Global Field Operations' Business Finance FP&A team, is looking for a Senior Finance Controller based in Walldorf. This position is responsible for providing financial leadership and operational support to the Global Ecosystem & Channels Organization.
A strong team player, the owner of this role brings business acumen, a passion for operational excellence, great attention to detail, proven ability to work with senior Sales leadership and connect with people across a worldwide organization.
This position reports to the Global Ecosystem & Sales Channels Finance Director.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Business decision support:
* Participate in the construction of regional revenue targets, sales contribution and headcount budgets on all sales dimensions (channel, segment, product). Maintain budget transfers throughout the year in coordination with the regions
* Drive the consolidation of biweekly revenue forecasts in coordination with regional finance & operations, on all sales dimensions
* Lead the monthly sales expense & headcount forecast process for the Global Ecosystem & Sales Channels ("Global E&C") team
* Prepare quarterly reporting & analysis packages for Global E&C management team
* Act as a financial voice of conscience for the Global E&C management team. Ensures adherence to the expense and headcount budgets as well as to the Company's policies and guidelines
* Build up a strong network with Regional & Market Unit Finance and Controlling communities, as well as with other board areas and other corporate Finance functions
* Support strategic/operational business change processes. Analyze E&C operations to identify opportunities and areas for profitability improvement, increasing efficiency and effectiveness
* Support sales compensation plans definitions with HR and sales operations; provide KPI financial reporting for compensation plans
* Collaborate with Global E&C Operations team on topics such as Partner Relationship Management tool interface with finance, or maintenance revenue performance monitoring

Process / systems & tools improvement
* Ensure alignment of profit center structure with business organization
* Collaborate with Corporate FP&A and other functions to support business intelligence initiatives that enhance Channels & Segment revenue planning, reporting and analysis
* Handle ad hoc enquiries and projects

WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years experience of financial controlling or project controlling in a global software company with an indirect channel strategy or a comparable position in an international company

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* University degree and/or MBA in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
* Technical knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis techniques
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Ability to plan pro-actively, anticipate issues and have excellent problem resolution records with little or no input or assistance. Excellent follow- through.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in complex projects
* Able to handle high workload and time pressure
* Strong business partnering skills and the ability to influence and drive financial strategies and initiatives are essential.
* Strong team player, ability to work in a international environment with a complex framework
* Excellent financial analysis skills
* SAP R/3 system knowledge
* Fluency in English mandatory; German an advantage
