PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP HANA is the core of SAPs In-Memory strategy. With the release of SAP NetWeaver SP05 the NetWeaver BW component can now run with SAP HANA as the underlying database. This enables BW to push data and memory intensive operations from the application layer to the database engine. The benefits of HANAs in-memory, column-based, multi-core processing can then unfold its full power.
The BW&HANA DataManager team develops the interaction layer between the ABAP-based BW application and the database layer, especially the HANA calculation engine. It is therefore responsible for the parameterization and execution of the SQL statements, specialized calls of function modules, Stored Procedures, and different kind of scripting capabilities HANA provides.
Additionally the DataManager offers interfaces for applications that want to integrate with BW on a data level, but still need to leverage the power of HANA as direct as possible. Examples of such applications are CRM Data Segmentation and POS Data Management.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a developer / senior developer in the BW&HANA DataManager area you will be working in a team of experienced colleagues. Your primary tasks include: * Developing and improving the push-down of functionality from the applications to the HANA database
* Designing and developing a clean data-centric Interface for applications leveraging BW-HANA as platform
* Close cooperation with stakeholders, e.g. HANA engine teams, Applications, and other BW teams
* Deep understanding of architecture and strength of the HANA engine
* Maintain and support the growing customer base of BW, powered by HANA

WORK EXPERIENCE
To fill in the vacant position, we are looking for an experienced colleague that can - after an introductory period - lead, guide and coordinate the development in the mentioned space. Ideally, you have some years of experience in professional software development.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Bachelor degree from an university or technical college
* At least 1-2 years of programming experience in ABAP/ABAP OO
* SQL, relational database experience
* Ability to work in a team of experienced collea-gues
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Interest in multi-dimensional reporting and modelling
* Fluency in written and oral German and English
