PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP Custom Development is a global organization dedicated to delivering custom solutions that address customer's unique and competitive business requirements on the SAP NetWeaver platform. We deliver a full lifecycle of custom development services - from the strategic planning of a development project through delivery and maintenance of the solution. With development centers in Walldorf, St. Ingbert, Newtown Square, Bangalore, Shanghai, Palo Alto, Delhi, Tokyo and Sao Leopoldo, we are able to leverage a global delivery model that utilizes the specific strengths of each location.

The Senior Developer/ Project Expert Development (f/m) is responsible for the quality of the planning and delivery of our Custom Development projects, which is a critical key success factor for the Custom Development organization - the customer satisfaction and the commercial success of our organization directly depend on it.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

* Have a proven track record of successfully leading large IT projects?
* Have experience in the management of development-related projects, particularly projects where a significant portion of the team is located in remote locations like India and China?
* Feel comfortable of managing custom specific development projects across the entire project life cycle (specification, design, execution, solution delivery, acceptance & handover)?
* Have experience in internal and external expectation- , risk- & change management?
* Willingness to travel international (50%+)

WORK EXPERIENCE
* 5-7 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 3 years in SAP
* Experience to work under pressure in global project teams
* SAP eWM expertise would be an advantage

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Effective negotiation and problem solving skills to deliver solutions according to defined contracts
* Ability to build productive customer and in-house relationships and to explain complex topics in a convincing and clear manner to external and internal customers (also senior executives) are a must
* Knowledge of the current concepts and strategy of SAP
* Pragmatism and result orientation
* Strong communication and presentation skills in both German and English
* Functional know how e.g. SAP eWM would be an advantage
