PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) line of business is the fastest growing segment within the SAP solution portfolio - and covers 78% of all of SAPs 100k+ customers. The SAP SME Solution Marketing is responsible for helping accelerate revenue growth and market penetration for SAPs SME solutions (on-premise, on-demand) in the SME market. The SME Solution Marketing team acts as partner of Solution Management, Field Marketing, Partner Marketing, Sales and other key stakeholders - such as regional and country marketing - in collaboratively driving the overall SAP go-to-market success. In this role you will support the SAP Business ByDesign solution.

Overview: * Analyze and champion the SAP Business ByDesign solution perspective to the market
* Develop compelling positioning and messaging for value-oriented content
* Create high-impact and marketable assets that will directly contribute to achieving inquiry, conversion and revenue growth targets
* Determine marketing and asset strategy to best support the above goals

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
In this role as a SME Solution Marketing Specialist / Senior Specialist (f/m), you will be responsible for leading key initiatives and producing deliverables to: * Improve the awareness and market perception of SAP enabling the company to position itself as the preferred vendor of business management software for small and midsize businesses in specific industries
* Act as the intermediary between the mid-market and the SAP teams
* Conduct market assessments to identify market needs, competitive pressures and determine scope of the solution market opportunity - identify the market opportunities, validate and prioritize
* Generate product/solution marketing content such as brochures, fact sheets, whitepapers, customer presentations, web copy, videos and sales tools
* Generate inquiries and speed conversion through the marketing funnel
* Improve SME marketing effectiveness and quality
* Expand our impact in supporting partner-led demand generation and partner enablement

This role will require extensive cross-team and organization collaboration and leadership of virtual teams and initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic perspective along with an execution focus in terms of driving projects and producing deliverables.

Reporting:
The role is currently a direct report to the VP of SME Solution Marketing.

WORK EXPERIENCE
* 3-5 years for Specialist, 5-8 years for Senior Specialist of experience in outbound product/solution marketing determining product positioning and creating product messaging and core content (such as brochures, fact sheets, whitepapers, customer presentations, web copy, and sales tools)
* Require experience working with and/or understands the basic functional components of ERP software
* Prefer experience with CRM, SCM, SRM, PLM or On-Demand / Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions; an understanding of the SME competitive landscape
* Experience working in a small business or midsize company
* Experience working with channel partners and multi-channel routes to market
* Experience leading virtual and global teams

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* BA/BS required; MBA preferred
* Strong team skills, especially working in cross-functional teams
* Strong relationship-building and alignment skills
* Ability to drive cross-functional / virtual global teams
* Willingness to travel (if needed) and work in a global team of professionals
* Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal (in English)
* Strong analytical skills with ability to communicate complex ideas
* Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements in the small and midsize businesses space
* Self-starter highly motivated with good energy level
