PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

In order to assure that the perception we create is matched by SAP's business solutions, SAP Production has the following responsibilities:
* Ensure completeness of SAP Solutions together with SAP development
* Ensure that SAP Software solutions match SAP standard quality at release
* Ensure that SAP Software components work properly on various supported operating systems (OS) and databases (DB)

The ABAP Component Validation Team is currently represented in three different locations in Germany, Ireland and India and is looking for additional team members to strengthen the location in St. Leon-Rot.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
The ABAP Component Validation team ensures completeness and correctness of SAP product versions including an ABAP-Server by acting as the very first customer. Our goal is to improve customer satisfaction and to increase the solution quality in terms of TICM (Technical Installation and Change Management) scenarios and platforms. The tasks will comprise:
* Understanding and handling of the complex tool environment to perform the End-to-End TICM procedures (Solution Manager, Service Marketplace, PPMS, Installation Tools ...)
* Testing of installation and update/upgrade procedures of SAP components as the very first customer
* Leading ABAP Component Validations projects
* Responsibility for validation of SAP components on all supported DB/OS platforms
* Coordination and communication with testers in a global team setup
* Consulting for development teams regarding Component Validation processes

Validation Processes are continuously optimized and adapted to requirements of new SAP products, processes and technologies.
* After a training phase you start in a highly motivated team and take care of the validation of several SAP components until release to customer; you will be involved in the complete lifecycle of multiple products: development phase, shipment and maintenance processes
* You work closely together with development, quality management, other production teams and Ramp-Up, gaining a strong network within the organization
* You can show your abilities to co-operate worldwide complex topics require your passion and keep your daily business exciting

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Science or related subject
* Methodical and independent working mode
* Team player with strong communication skills in both German and English language
* High sense of responsibility and reliability
* Analytical thinking and interest in technical topics
* Project management skills
* Service and customer orientation
* Basic knowledge in Windows and UNIX Server administration
* Experience with NetWeaver ABAP stack is an asset
* Basic know how about at least one DB (Oracle, MaxDB, DB6 or MS SQL) is an asset
