PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP Language Services has a vacancy for the position of "Technical Support Consultant" on the Language Technology team.

SAP Language Services (SLS) is responsible for translating all SAP software products into more than 35 languages. SLS outsources the majority of its translation work to translation partners. Internal SAP staff at SLS support this outsourcing strategy by supplying a range of technical, planning, quality, monitoring and expert linguistic services.

Language Technology is a team with more than 15 employees that provides language and technical support for multilingual tools designed to facilitate the authoring and translation of SAP documentation, training materials and user interface texts.

The main tasks of the Language Technology team are:
* Running a translation infrastructure in more than 200 SAP systems
* Providing support, troubleshooting and guidance on translation and authoring tools
* Running a Translation Portal infrastructure with SDL TRADOS as the backbone for translation services
* Running an infrastructure for machine translation
* Supporting a development group in building high performance translation tools

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
* Setting up, maintaining and monitoring key translation systems
* Handling of internal and external (customer) problem messages
* Evaluating, testing, guiding and approving new developments
* Representing interests of system support in key meetings
* Acting as a source of innovation for SAP's translation processes
* Maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction

WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 3 years' experience working in a service-oriented environment
* Knowledge of standard translation and terminology tools
* Extensive background in translation and/or support preferred
