PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Because user experience is of vital importance to the success of all SAP products, SAP constantly evaluates and improves its products to ensure that SAP users get the best user experience possible. User Experience at SAP covers all activities from conception and design of future SAP products to maintenance and improvement of existing applications.

SAP currently has openings for an experienced user experience practitioner within different areas of the User Experience organization based in St. Leon/Rot and Walldorf.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
User Interface Design is central to software development. Todays users expect applications which are oriented to their needs and make it easy for them to carry out their daily tasks. This demanding requirement can only be fulfilled by specialists who understand users, their tasks, and the underlying technology.
As a user interface designer you work closely with Solution Management and Development to enable users to do business in the most effective and efficient manner. Your tasks include:
* Gathering end-user requirements by organizing, executing, and moderating end-user site visits, focus groups, and user days including collection/consolidation of results
* Facilitate design sessions with involved teams
* Development of user interface designs using various prototyping techniques and documented in UI specifications
* Verification of designs through reviews, validations and formal usability testing
* Design support and consulting for the development teams

WORK EXPERIENCE
* Experience in UI Design and working along User Centered Design Methods
* General proficiency with tools and procedures required to accomplish the job

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Bachelors Art/Bachelors Science in Human-Computer Interaction, Media or Industrial Design are required.
* A Master degree is preferred
* Knowledge of HTML, Flash/Flex, MS Silverlight are beneficial
* Bachelors in Computer Science are beneficial
* Experience with tools such as MS Visio, Photoshop and Paintshop Pro
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
* Because of the interdisciplinary environment we work in, strong communication skills are essential
* Proven ability to interact and coordinate with teams in multi-site international locations
