PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Language Services (SLS) is responsible for coordinating and supporting the translation of all SAP software solutions in up to 40 languages. Within SLS, the Language Technology group supports:

* Approximately 300 SAP translation systems (SAP translation software)

* Third-party language technology tools (translation memory, machine translation, language checking)

* In-house and partner translators and coordinators who translate SAP products into 40 languages


EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

We are looking for a highly motivated intern to work in the SLS Language Technology System Support team and carry out the following tasks:

* Perform administrative tasks in translation systems

* Assist the System Support team in processing support requests

* Create and update team documentation

* Assist with the creation/configuration of a chatbot that will integrate our support database with team communication and collaboration platforms at SAP (e.g. Slack or Microsoft Teams)

You will work in the API/DRM team with a diverse mix of young and mature colleagues. The team is a front-runner in test automation and operations-oriented development.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS


* We are looking for a candidate with strong development knowledge in the areas listed below

* You will have the responsibility to oversee the implementation of the teams backlog including the architectural aspects of the features owned by the team

* You should have a good understanding what it means to build a cloud-application and shape the path forward regarding quality, test automation, active monitoring of productive product usage etc.

* You have an affinity to development, prototyping, testing, code reviews, customer support and contribute to and drive these areas

* You will work as a member of a SCRUM team applying agile development techniques and SCRUM methodology

* You will closely work together with the PO, the SCRUM Master, the team, the cluster lead and stakeholders inside and outside EC

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required skills

* Social skills and team player – consensus building and openness to new ideas and intercultural co-operation; supporting and growing the team

* Expert knowledge and experience in JAVA development and SQL

* Experience as a development architect

* Experience in cloud development or strong motivation to acquire it

* Quality, service, and customer-oriented working attitude

* Fluent German and English language skills

Preferred skills

* Knowledge in integration development (SOAP, OData, monitoring, middleware, etc)

* SAPUI5 / Javascript

* Experience with performance optimization & memory analysis

* Experience with HANA

* Experience in HCM application development

* VBA is a plus
