Summary & Role Information:

We are seeking a (Senior) Developer to join the BTP developer experience team. As a member in our team, you will develop a portal and microservices as the central entry point for all developer types, providing the perfect environment to build cloud-native services and business applications on top of the SAP Business Technology Platform.The portal is a growing inner-source project with contributions from teams across SAP. It is based on the Luigi micro frontend framework. Under the hood it uses Kubernetes to provide a scalable infrastructure, services and a development model, so that contributing teams can focus on creating and delivering usable and consistent UIs. Together with our product and design teams you will make sure that we constantly improve user flows and the visual experience of our UIs.Working with and improving development tools will be part of your daily life as a developer in our team. You will get in touch with IntelliJ/VS Code, Git, Node, Go, Docker, Kubernetes and Jenkins. Our test framework will allow you to build reliable and fast end-to-end tests.We accompany our software into production based on infrastructure-as-code, supported by a central team of service engineers who work in 24/7 shifts. Your task as a developer will include proactive monitoring of the service instances with Dynatrace, supporting in case of live-site incidents and handling customer tickets together with the product support team.

Experience (Role Requirements):

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience- Strong Computer Science foundation (data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems)
  • Experience with E2E web application development in JavaScript/TypeScript, e.g. using Angular, Web Components, NestJS (Node.js)- Experience with cloud platforms, e.g. Kubernetes (plus Docker and Go)
  • (Advanced) experience with agile development practices, including test-driven-development, pair programming and code reviews
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Domain knowledge and architectural understanding of SAP BTP
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, and working in a cross-cultural and cross-functional setup
